France, around 1900. Bronze with red-brown and black patina, h. 71 cm, onto the plinth sign. 'Hiolin', frontally a plaque inscribed 'Aguador Medaille Beaux Arts', sideways stamped 'Bronze Garantie au Titre'. - - French sculptor. After his apprenticeship at the drawing school in Soissaons Hiolin was a pupil of the Academy of Fine Arts in Paris. He showed his award-winning works between 1874 and 1904 in the 'salon'. In addition to monuments, portrait busts and genre sculptures he created the decorative figures for the celebration hall of the World Exhibition in Paris 1900. Comp.: Thieme-Becker.
