2008. Antimonial lead cast, produced by the 'Atelier für Kunstformung Ulrich Wolff, Karlsruhe'. At the bottom sign. and num.: 'griffelkunst 2008 St. Balkenhol 1137'. H. 31,5 cm, plinth 15 x 10 cm. - Balkenhol created the young woman two years after the young man - edited by the Griffelkunst in 2006. The two figures have not been designed as a couple. - German sculptor. 1976 - 1982 studies at the Hamburg Art Academy under Ulrich Rückriem, then teaching at the Städelsches Kunstinstitut in Frankfurt, since 1992 professorship at the Art Academy in Karlsruhe. The main focus of his oeuvre is the human being, characteristical for his work are coarsely finished and polychrome painted wooden sculptures. B. created many works for the public space at home and abroad.
