Burma, Mandalay, 19. Jh. Bronze with brown patina, inlaied eyes. Sitting in 'padmasana', the right hand in 'bhumisparsa mudra'. Clad in a finely pleated monk's garb leaving his left shoulder. The juvenile face with meditative expression. Partly small dam. due to age. H. 97 cm. - Provenance: Acquired 1984 at the art gallery Bernheimer, Munich, for 30.000 DM (original invoice available, here called 'as a collector's object representing exemplary character'); private collection Northern Germany.
