India, Ladakh, 19th cent. Tempera and Gold on cotton, framed by brocade. In the centre transcendent buddhas, in the corners the 4 'lokapalas' (world guards). In the centre top the blue-skinned Adibuddha, accompanied by Padmasambava and another master. At the lower left Hayagriva, at the right Dakini Simhavaktra with lion-face. Age-related traces of creasing. 70 x 50 cm, brocade frame 120 x 74,5 cm.
