Nymphenburg, 20th cent. The model from 1770. White porcelain. 6 parts: seashell with Neptune and Amphitrite (h. 37 cm), 3 water horses (h. 21 and 25 cm), Triton with conch (h. 30 cm), Triton as horseman (h. 20 cm). - Sculptor and porcelain designer. Educated in Bohemia and Vienna, he worked in Paris, London and Rome. 1765 he became the successor of F. A. Bustelli as chef designer at the Nymphenburg porcelain manufactory, since 1773 as chief inspector. His emphasis was on the creation of mythological figures.
