Since 1880 he exhibited in his home town, shortly after also in the USA, with even greater success. He worked as assistant to the art dealer S. Bardini before setting up his own business in the mid 1890s. V. soon became one of the leading art dealers of his time a. sold paintings by Raffael a. Botticelli to clients like B. Berenson, I. Stewart Gardner a. P. Morgan.
