Nancy, around 1900. Nut with intarsia of different exotic wood. Set of 4 tables with various intarsia of rose blossoms, tendrils of leafs and maple. On the top of the largest table with intarsia sign. 'L. Majorelle'. Traces of usage, burn marks. H. 77,5 cm, h. 74,5 cm, h. 73,5 cm resp. 72 cm. - French decorator and furniture designer, who manufactured his own designs, in the French tradition of the ébéniste. He was one of the outstanding designers of furniture in the Art Nouveau style, and after 1901 formally served as one of the vice-presidents of the École de Nancy.
