Paris, beg. 20th cent. Bronze with brown-green patina, h. 21 cm, w. 22 cm, d. 14 cm, verso on the plinth sign. 'Hierholtz'. - Swiss sculptor. 1904/05 he presented his works at 'Salon de la Société´in Paris, where his animal sculptures have won many awards. Significant is his stay in Indochine between 1919 and 1930 where he became the Director of the Hanoi Applied Art School and created in this period remarkable Buddhist sculptures.
