Italy, 19th cent. Bronze with black patina, h. 31 cm, on a round and profiled wooden base (h. 7 cm). Attribute lost. - The bronze is probably a work in the steps of Massimiliano Soldani Benzi (1656-1740), who made himself famous in his day as a copyist of antique sculpture. The present sculpture is based on the statue Doryphoros by Polyklet (5th cent. BC). - Provenance: Private Collection, Lower Saxony.
