Italy/Flanders, 17th cent. Firegilt bronze, h. 26,5 cm, on a wooden base (h. 5 cm). Left arm lost. - Shown here is probably Venus with a shell shaped diadem, the long hair falls softly on her shoulder. With her right hand she is gathering her robe punched with fine flower tendrils. - Stilistically the sculpture is very similar to tree bronzes of the Hatvani Collection (Cat. Christie's, Juni 1980, no. 24-26), attributed to Ferdinando Tacca and his workshop. - Provenance: Private Collection Lower Saxony.
