Copenhagen, 1945-77. Silver, stamped 'Denmark Sterling', mm.:'Georg Jensen' in dotted circle, modelno.: '80B' and '80C'. Designed by Georg Jensen 1915. Set comprising 5 parts: coffee pot (h. 18,5 cm), tea pot (14 cm), sugar bowl (10 cm), milk jug (7,5 cm) and serving tray (l. 22 cm, modelno.: '223A'). Wall with Martelé decor, handles and knobs of ivory. (comp. Laskey, Taylor: Georg Jensen. Holloware. The Silver Fund Collection, p. 34, 78) - Danish silversmith, 1895-1901 Studies at the Royal Danish Academy of Art in Copenhagen, then worked in the studio of the Danish court jeweler Michelsen. In 1904 opening of his own studio in Copenhagen where Jensen first produced works in the Art Nouveau style. Soon after he founded the company Georg Jensen, which is famous for their designs in the functional style of the Danish industrial designs.
