1905. Bronze with dark-brown and gold patina, h. 61 cm, sign. and dat. on the plinth 'RUDOLF MARCUSE 1905', sideways foundry mark of the foundry Gladenbeck & Sohn, Berlin-Friedrichshagen. Marble plinth h. 3 cm. - The sculpture was last placed on view 2012 in the exibition 'TanzPlastik' in the Georg-Kolbe-Museum, Berlin. - Exhibition: Berlin, Georg-Kolbe-Museum 26.02. - 28.05.2012. - Literature: Exhib.cat.:. TanzPlastik. Die tänzerische Bewegung in der Skulptur der Moderne, ed. by Ursel Berger et al., Berlin 2012, ill. p. 22 and text starting p. 23. - Berliner sculptor, student of the Berlin art academy by Ernst Herter, created small sculptures in Art Nouveau and Art Déco style mainly in bronze and porcelain (designs for KPM and Rosenthal) and also the monumentes of Moses Mendelsohn (Berlin) and Carl Hagenbeck (Stellingen). 1936 the artist emigrated to Englad and lived in London until his death.
