Copenhagen, from 1915. Silver, min. stamped variously: 'STERLING DENMARK', assay mark, mm, design 'Konge' by Johan Rohde 1915. Comprising 93 parts: 13 menue knives (l. 22,8 cm), 16 menue forks, 10 menue spoons, 1 starter cutlery (knive l. 22,7 cm), 5 starter knives (l. 20,3 cm), 8 aspry forks, 8 dessert spoons, 8 ice cream spoons, 8 tea spoons, 8 mocca spoons, 1 salad server, 3 serving spoons, 1 serving fork, 1 sauce ladle. Overall weight (without knives) approx. 3150 g. - Literature: Drucker: Georg Jensen. A tradition of splendid silver, p. 264, 271. - Danish silversmith, 1895-1901 Studies at the Royal Danish Academy of Art in Copenhagen, then worked in the studio of the Danish court jeweler Michelsen. In 1904 opening of his own studio in Copenhagen where Jensen first produced works in the Art Nouveau style. Soon after he founded the company Georg Jensen, which is famous for their designs in the functional style of the Danish industrial designs.
