Schranz, min. rest., relined. - Provenance: Christie's; private collection Kiel; thence by descent in private collection Hamburg. - Marine painter of German origin from a family of artists. Like his father Anton he specialized in views of harbours of the Balearic islands, and most of all, Malta. In 1876 he exhibited at the Paris World's Fair.
