Weimar academies, among others under F. Mackensen a. A. Egger-Lienz. He designed the first Bauhaus signet, 1922 Theo van Doesburg held his De Stijl lecture in R.s studio. 1919-21 R. was master student at the Bauhaus. In 1926 he became teacher at the Frankfurt Städelschule where he was dismissed by the Nazis in 1942. Since 1946 he lived a. worked in Kiel.
