Berlin, KPM, around 1823-32. Porcelain. Fired in two pieces and screwed together. Decorated with finely painted depictions of ruins in faux micro-mosaic technique in gilt reserves, one of them depicting the Ponte Lucano in Rome, based on the 1797 printed collection of engravings 'A Select Collection of Views and Ruins in Rome and ist Vicinity' existing to this day in the KPM Archives in Berlin. Blue sceptre mark, red-brown eagle mark with KPM. Minor wear of gilding. H. 31 cm.
