Designed 1963, casted after 1970. Bronze with dark patina. On the bottom side monogr. 'Fl' and dated '63' as well as the foundry mark by 'GUSS BARTH ELMENHORST'. H. 22 cm. - The 'Small Seated Male' is the small version of the 'Large Seated Male', created by Fleer in 1964 (casts in Gottorf and Hamburg-Horn). - Literature: H. Spielmann/S. Timm: Fritz Fleer. Themen und Variationen Arbeiten 1941-1991, Gottorf 1992, p. 99, cat. no. 27 (without illustration). - Northern German sculptor and graphic artist, studied at the National Art School in Hamburg by Edwin Scharff, study tours to Denmark, Italy, Yugoslavia, Greece, USA, China and Kenya, received the Edwin Scharff Prize in 1966.
