Around 1920/30. Bronze with brown-green patina. Sign. to the top side of the plinth 'K. Möbius fec(it)', foundry mark 'GUSS HEINZE & BARTH'. Javelin lost. H. 60,5 cm (figure), h. 12 cm (marble base, min. chipped). - Reduced-size version of the sculpture awarded with the gold medal at the Great Berlin Art Exhibition in 1913. The monumental sculpture was melted during the Second World War, but after the War a replica could be cast and placed at Volkspark Wilmersdorf. - German sculptor, studied at the Kunstgewerbeschule in Dresden and the Berlin Academy of Fine Arts, is regarded as one of the outstanding representatives of the colonial sculpture, but also created a large number of portraits, monuments and figures on other issues.
