Oil/cardboard, 52,5 x 73 cm, on the reverse confirmation of authenticity by Helmut Vinnen. - German landscape painter. V. studied since 1886 at the Karlsruhe and Düsseldorf academies where he met F. Mackensen and O. Modersohn. He was in close contact with the Worpswede artist's colony without living in Worpswede. V. was a main exponent of German art in the so called 'Bremer Künstlerstreit' (Bremen artist's conflict) between German artists and the French Avantgarde.
