G. studied 1877-79 at the Copenhagen academy. He lived in Paris for 25 years before settling in Berlin in 1868. He showed his works at the major exhibitions of his time, i.e. at the Paris Salon, at the Royal academy and at the British Institution in London, at the Große Berliner Kunstausstellung and at the Copenhagen academy.
