Around 500 B.C. Black-figured jug with double handle, possibly by the workshop of the Nikoxenos painter. The obverse with a bearded man, possibly Dionysios, wearing a chiton and a cape, a dog in the background, to his sides two sitting maenads lifting up their hands. The reverse with four male figures, two of them pulling the horns of a sacrificial animal. Rep. H. 37 cm. - Provenance: Since the 1980s in a private collection, Northern Germany. -
