Meissen, around 1755. Porcelain. Painted with a big bear in a landscape, within a border of continous flowers. Crossed swords mark, impressed '20'. Small prof. rest. Diam. 20 cm. - The current plate is from a service reputedly made for Frederick the Great, animals and birds in a similar style appear on the 'Japanisches Service' ordered by Frederick the Great from Meissen in 1762, although with a different border. (Comp a similar piece sold at Christie's, sale 16221, 13 November 2018, lot 321). -
