Unique piece from 2013. Polychrome glass, partly polished. Sign. and dat. ''RAYMOND MARTINEZ 2013'. H. 30 cm, 28,5 x 13 cm. - Provenance: Galerie Internationale du Verre, Biot; Private collection, Hamburg. - French glass artist, studied 1963-1968 Literature and Art in Aix-en-Provence, worked for many years as stage designer before turning autodidactally to glass as central medium. 1980 he opened his own workshop for glass in Marseille. Since 1985 he is working with massiv glass blocks and the techniques of thermoforming and pâte-de-verre. His passion for archeology and the myths of the mediterranean world are permanent source of his artistic inspiration. Raymond Martinez is represented in numerous private and public collections.
