German painter a. graphic artist, after an apprenticeship as decoration painter he worked in Berlin a. Munich, thereafter he settled in Hamburg as drawing teacher, upon recommandation of A. Lichtwark he studied at the Stuttgart academy under F. Keller a. Chr. Landenberger, around 1920 he continued his studies under J. Wohlers at the Hamburg arts school.
