Christophe Fratin (Metz 1801 - Le Raincy 1864) - Sell & Buy
Fratin was one of the earliest French sculptors to portray animals in bronze. He studied sculpture under Pioche in Metz, then moved to Paris to study under Théodore Géricault. He exhibited at the Paris Salon from 1831-1842 and 1850-1862, as well as at the Great Exhibition in London in 1851. He died at Le Raincy (Seine-Saint-Denis) and is buried in Montmartre Cemetery.
