French landscape, figure and still life painter. J. began studying at the Académie Julian in Paris in 1906 and later continued his studies at the Académie des Beaux-Arts under G. Ferrer. Together with P. Bonnard and others he was founder of the 'Montmartre School'. Since 1920 he exhibited at the Salon des Indépendants and all other important Paris Salons. Mus.: Paris.
