German goldsmith and silversmith, trained in Schwäbisch-Gmünd, 1907-09 studied at the Kunstgewerbeschule Stuttgart, from 1921 head of the newly established metal class at the Handwerker- und Kunstgewerbeschule Altona, professor there in 1924. Active as an industrial designer, ivory carver, chaser, silver and goldsmith and metal sculptor, own studio in Hamburg from 1931, in Burgberg from 1955 Mus.: Hamburg, Museum of Arts and Crafts
