German painter. J. studied 1891-96 at the Munich academy under L. Loefftz a. P. Hoecker. He became teacher at the same academy in 1907. Since 1896 he exhibited with the Munich secession, furthermore he made many illustrations for the magazine 'Jugend'. He is best known for his paintings of horse riders.
