Paul von Franken (Godesberg 1818 - Düsseldorf 1884) - Sell & Buy

German Oriental and landscape painter. F. studied in Düsseldorf in 1840/41, then in Brussels and Dresden until 1849. In 1852-53 he lived in Latvia and Russia, before living and working in the Caucasus for several years. The motifs he gained there served him for his entire artistic life after he returned to Düsseldorf in 1860. Mus.: Bonn, Bielefeld, Riga.
