German landscape painter. V. completed an apprenticeship as a painter and was self-taught, including at the Folkwang Museum. In 1919, the gallery owner Alfred Flechtheim took him under contract, and from 1927 Viegener also exhibited at the Juryfreie Kunstausstellung in Berlin.
